Initial bombing called successful; endgame unclear
WASHINGTON — The U.S. claimed initial success two days into an assault on Libya that included some of the heaviest firepower in the American arsenal – long-range bombers designed for the Cold War – but American officials said Sunday it was too early to define the international military campaign’s end game.
It appears that this stellar Democrat “leadership” under Barack Hussein Obama has blindly entered into a war with no objective.
I remember years ago I use to play cards with a group of friends every Friday night. One friend of mine by the name of Kent loved to gamble; the ponies, casinos, card rooms where ever he could find a game he would play. Kent was always a fun guy to have at the table, on occasion he would bet “in the blind”, when the cards were dealt he wouldn’t touch his hand! He would leave his cards face down on the table and has everyone else was looking at their cards, betting and checking, Kent would just sit there with his arms folded.. betting and rising bets when given the chance.
Kent would pull this poker game psych op on occasions and when he did he would mutter 3 words “in the blind” because he had no clue what his hand that he was betting on held. For a friendly quarter poker game on a Friday night this prove to be quite entertaining.
Kent would sometimes win and sometimes lose, it was a blind gamble with the stakes always growing higher and no matter the outcome with his constant betting and rising the rest of us sitting at the table were kept on edge.
Betting “in the blind” might be fine when your hanging out with friends on a Friday night playing a friendly game of poker but when it comes to national defense and foreign policy “in the blind” is an irresponsible and reckless strategy.
President Obama, by turning our armed forces over the the leadership of the French and U.N., has entered into a war with Libya with no know objective, he has placed his bets “in the blind” with an uncertain outcome.
This is poor leadership.
According to Obama, this is nothing more than “change”.
Obama referred to Libya but did not discuss the unfolding operation during remarks in Brazil.
“We’ve seen the people of Libya take a courageous stand against a regime determined to brutalize its own citizens,” Obama said.
“No one can say for certain how this change will end, but I do know that change is not something that we should fear.
There you go Democrats, change you can believe in! That’s right…WAR! A BLIND WAR!
With no known objectives and no clear outcome, it looks like LBJ all over again.
It will interesting to see how this turns out..
