Muslim Brotherhood advocates Egyptian modesty police
Officials of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s leading Islamic group, have called for the establishment of a Saudi-style modesty police to combat “immoral” behavior in public areas in what observers say in another sign of a growing Islamic self-confidence in the post-Mubarak era.
In the political sphere, the Brotherhood led a successful drive to get voters to approve a package of constitutional amendments. On the street level, at least 20 attacks were perpetrated against the tombs of Muslim mystics (suffis), who are the subject of popular veneration but disparaged by Islamic fundamentalists, or salafis. After some initial hesitation, Islamic leaders have publicly praised the revolution.

The Muslim Brotherhood, which gave birth to such groups as Al-Qeada, was kept in check by ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak for over 30 years. When Barack Hussein Obama sided with the Egyptian uprisings in February he undermined the leadership of a long trusted ally and gave the uprising the impression of U.S. support, which in turn caused Mubarak to step down leaving a leadership vacuum in Egypt.
This vacuum is now empowering the Muslim Brotherhood, the only political organization in Egypt with any real influence, the M.B., which was illegal and underground during Mubarak’s reign, is now legal and in position to take a substantial amount power in the 2011 elections.
According to the Jerusalem Post article the Muslim Brotherhood is starting to lay the ground work for Sharia law in Egypt.
When Sharia law comes to Egypt we can expect to see the Camp David peace accords become null and void.
We can also expect to see a radical form of Islam rising up and being supported in Egypt by the newly elected government.
We can expect to see a more hostile Egypt towards America and her interest in the region.
We can expect years of headaches for the U.S. to come.
If we throw an Islamic Libya in the mix we can only speculate on what the region would look like in just a few years.
The Democrats, under Obama’s leadership, know that creating instability for our allies in the world opens the door for much more evil and darker forces to come into power.
So I would have to ask…What side are the Democrats on?
