Kenyan-born Obama all set for US Senate
I ran across this AP article from 2004, I really think that birthers have got to let this thing go and here is why.
#1 The debate over the difference between “Certificate of live birth” and “Birth Certificate” may not be easily rectifiable in which case both sides of the issue would have to lawyer up to bring the legitimacy (or lack there of) to light in the court of law. This could result in years of legal maneuvering on both parties in the case.
#2 The burden of proof is on the accuser, so the birthers would have to prove that Obama wasn’t born in the US. Just because Obama hasn’t produced his long form doesn’t mean he doesn’t have one, it just means he hasn’t produced it.
#3 To remove Obama from power would take articles of impeachment from the House, then a full House vote and if the articles get that far then it’s off to the Democrat controlled Senate where it would be tried. I don’t think the Republican controlled house is down with this and I doubt 2/3rds of the Senate would vote for removal
#4 If Obama was not born in the US the vindictive Clintons would have brought that to light during the Democrat primaries and had Obama disqualified.
#5 Obama is in power, he’s the sitting President of the US and Birthers need to come to grips with that.
It would be easier to impeach him on violation of the Wars Powers Act then it would to prove his place of birth.
Personally I believe that he was born here, I think this whole birther issue is allowed to continue by Obama to make a bunch of “conservatives” look like kooks.
The best way to remove Obama from power is to beat him in the 2012 elections, drop the stupid birther issue and start focusing on the real issues that are facing this nation and Obama will lose in 2012.
